Hi Alex, what are you training for?
Steady
Serra da Estrela in June — 174km, 4600m climbing.
You
Your Strava data puts you at 2.8 W/kg with a longest ride of 3h 20m. The climbs will need sustained efforts above threshold for 5+ hours. You have 13 weeks — enough. I'll start with aerobic endurance and build into climbing-specific work from week 5.
Steady
Hi Alex, what are you training for?
Steady
Move from Cat C to Cat B on Zwift.
You
Cat B requires around 3.2 W/kg. You're at 2.9 — a gap of 0.3 W/kg. With your current training load, 18–20 weeks of focused sweet spot and threshold work gets you there. Realistic by October.
Steady
Hi Alex, what are you training for?
Steady
5-day cycling trip to Mallorca in May.
You
Classic Mallorca routes average 70km and 1,800m per day. Your longest recent ride is 3h — we'll build to 5h+ over 8 weeks, with back-to-back long rides in weeks 6 and 7 to simulate the daily load.

You held your target power through the first two intervals and faded on the third — that's normal at this point in the block. Your aerobic base is responding well. We'll run this session again next week and aim to hold all three clean.

Week of May 9–17

Four out of five sessions done and the quality was there. Tuesday's sweet spot held 178W across all three intervals with clean HR — your aerobic engine is absorbing this load well. Your sustained power gap is closing.

How did this block go?

The first three weeks showed real aerobic development — you hit the 2h30 duration target and kept decoupling under 5% even as ride length increased. But training fell off completely in week 4, which means the adaptations didn't get the consistency needed to stick. Durability is still sitting 6% behind target, and that's the one that matters most for a 160km gran fondo.

What did we learn?

Your aerobic system responds quickly when you stay consistent. Week 1: 2h43 at 155W with 4.1% decoupling. Week 3: 2h40 at 141W with 3.2% decoupling — you maintained duration while decoupling improved.

THE METHODOLOGY

Built on Training Science,
Not LLM Vibes

Steady is based on proven endurance training principles: periodization, progressive overload, and event-specific adaptation. The same science human coaches use, applied systematically to your data.

Steady goal types — gran fondo, performance target, multi-day trip

Your Goal Has Specific Demands

Whether you're chasing a gran fondo finish, a Zwift category upgrade, or a multi-day cycling trip — the demands are different, and the training should be too.

Steady analyzes what your specific goal actually requires and builds the training to match. Not "get fitter." Get ready for exactly this.

Get clear direction

Every workout connects to a specific capability your goal demands. You know exactly why you're doing what you're doing.

2

Understand the WHY behind each workout

Not just "do this workout" but why: "This builds threshold capacity for your big climbs. You're targeting 4×8min to extend time at power."

Your coach adapts to your life

When life disrupts training, the plan adjusts — and tells you why. You always know where you stand and what changed.

Good timing. I'd make it your long ride for the week and drop Saturday's easy session so you arrive fresh. Ride the first half zone 1, then push on the climbs — good prep for Serra da Estrela. Want me to make that swap?
Coach
Yes, do it

Good call. I'll swap Saturday's easy ride for a rest day and add the sportive as your long ride Sunday.

Frequently Asked Questions

Steady supports any cycling goal with a measurable target and a timeline: single-day events (granfondos, sportives, centuries), performance goals (Zwift category upgrade, FTP target, segment PB), and multi-day rides (Mallorca, TransAlp, bikepacking trips).
Yes. Steady uses power data to measure your current capabilities, track progress, and calibrate your training. A power meter on your bike (pedal, crank, or hub-based) is required.
A good human coach reviews your training, adjusts your plan, and gives you feedback. Steady does the same thing — automatically, after every ride, for €29.99/mo instead of €150–300/mo. The difference: a human coach brings experience and intuition that AI can't replicate. Steady brings consistency — it never forgets your history, never misses a ride review, and never has a busy week where your check-in gets skipped.
We're launching with a limited number of athletes to ensure quality coaching for each user. Joining the waitlist gets you priority access when we open up.
Not at all. Connect your Strava account, tell us about your event, and Steady handles the rest. You'll see clear workouts with plain-language coaching explaining what to do and why.
Steady is a coaching product. The training plan is the starting point — what makes Steady different is what happens after: personalized feedback after every ride, weekly reviews that reflect what actually happened, and a plan that adapts to how you respond. No training app does this. A human coach does.

The plan itself isn't LLM output either. By the time Steady writes a workout, most of the decisions are already made deterministically: your event's specific demands have been analysed, the gap between your current fitness and what's required has been measured in real numbers, and the training architecture — volume, intensity zones, block structure, progression — is built from that gap, not generated from a prompt. Intensity is anchored to your aerobic threshold, not FTP. Every 4 weeks, the plan is rebuilt from scratch based on how your fitness actually changed. The AI handles the texture. The structure comes from training science.
The earlier you start, the more time Steady has to build your base and progressively close the gap. Try it for free and start training today.
